2 Inuit Carvings Incl. Tungilik - Group of two Inuit carvings. Including: Mark Tungilik (Inuit (Repulse Bay - Naujaat), 1913-1986). Carved organic material carving depicting a caribou. With incised syllabics along the underside. One carved organic material figure of a hunter aiming towards a mammal. Provenance: Heard Museum, Arizona; Private Collection, New York. (Caribou) Height: 1 1/2 in x width: 2 in x depth: 1 in. (Hunter & Mammal) Height: 1 1/2 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 2 in. Condition: To the caribou, there is a repaired break to one side of the body. To the hunter and mammal carving, there is an apparent loss to a component protruding from the creature.
