Fabien Oogaaq Carved Bird Spirits - Fabien Oogaaq (Inuit (Arviliqjuaq - Pelly Bay), b. 1923). Carved organic material sculpture of two bird spirits with faces on an organic material base, ca. 1975. Signed in syllabics along the base. Provenance: Heard Museum, Arizona; Private Collection, New York. Height: 3 in x width: 4 1/2 in x depth: 2 in. Condition: Discoloration commensurate with the material, surface reaching cracks to the face and body of the larger figure. An old small piece of tape adhered to the base to keep it level.
