4 Inuit & Alaskan Carved Masks - Group of four Inuit and indigenous Alaska carved masks. Including: Patrick Nayokpuk (Alaskan (Inupiaq - Shishmaref), 20th/21st c). One carved fossilized organic material shaman's mask. Three Inuit (Qikiqtaaluk - Baffin Island) carved stone and organic material masks, likely composing a family. Provenance: Heard Museum, Arizona; Private Collection, New York. (Large) Height: 4 1/2 in x width: 4 in x depth: 1 in. (Stone masks) height ranges from 1 3/4 in to 2 1/4 in; width ranges from 1 in to 2 in; depth ranges from 1/4 in to 1/2 in. Condition: To most of the masks there are no breaks or losses. To one of the stone and organic material masks, the organic material has become detached from the stone slab. There are residual adhesive and label accretions along the verso of the smaller masks.
