Christopher Pelley ”Cain & Abel” Mixed Media - Christopher Pelley (American, b. 1955). Large mixed media artwork titled ”Cain & Abel, ” 1984. Signed and dated along the lower edge; further titled, signed, and dated along the verso. When closed, the temple-like facade frames doors painted to depict a steak and baguette on a table. When opened, a landscape on fire is revealed. Two wooden mannequins are posed in the pediment, likely depicting the moment Cain attacks his brother, Abel. Two labels along the verso: one from Bliss Fine Art and the other detailing exhibition history. Overall; height: 96 in x width 82 in x depth: 6 in. Condition: There are no major breaks or losses. The hinges work well. There are some small chips and light scuffs along highpoints, such as the extreme edges of the corners. Light wear to the base.
