Inuit Otter & Fish Carved Sculpture - Inuit carved soapstone sculpture of an otter eating a fish. Possibly Isah Qumalu Sivuarapi (Inuit (Povungnituk - Puvirnituq), 1925-1979) or Isa Piungituq (Inuit (Clyde River - Kangiqtugaapik), 1954). Incised ”Iisah” with an indistinct disc number along the underside. Provenance: By repute, purchased from a Canadian government auction in 1971; Private Minnesota Collection. Height: 7 1/2 in x width: 11 1/2 in x depth: 8 in. Condition: No major chips, losses, or signs of repair. General surface wear, including light scratches and fleabite chips. Wear to the base.
