Kunisada ”Ise Ondo Koi no Netaba” Triptych - Utagawa Kunisada/Toyokuni III (Japanese, 1786-1865). Woodblock print on paper triptych titled ”Ise Ondo Koi no Netaba, ” 1855. Depicting, from left to right: Onoe Baiko IV, Iwai Kumesaburo III, Sawamura Sojuro V as Mitsugi, and Nakamura Tsuruzo I. The play depicted was put on at the Nakamura Theater in Edo. The sheets depicting single figures have been incorrectly attached to one another. Properly displayed, the print to the far right would be between the two attached prints. (Seperated print) height: 14 1/4 in x width: 9 1/2 in. (Connected prints, total) height: 14 1/4 in x width: 20 in. Condition: The sheets are possibly trimmed and toned. Light soiling and minute losses. There is a crease along the edges of the connected prints where they are joined. Horizontal crease through the center of all sheets. The sheets have been laid onto another. The works are not framed.
