Homer Green Alligator Folk Art Sculpture - Homer Green (American, 1910-2002). Polychrome wooden folk art or Outsider art sculpture in the form of an alligator or crocodile in white with mottled decoration in red and black. Height: 12 1/2 in x width: 65 in x depth: 17 in. Condition: There are some splits and cracks to the wood throughout, the largest of which runs horizontally from the lower right of the alligator's jaw through the length of the sculpture. Some wear to the pigment, including areas of flaking and heavy wear including losses to the pigment along the legs. There is a loss to the left eye. Three of the legs detach, but are able to rest within the leg sockets along the sculpture. Heavy wear to the feet. Some dust and debris gathered along the recessed areas.
