These tickets were purchased and the games were attended by the consignor and their father. Including the following game tickets: Vikings: September 10, 1961: A preseason game against the LA Rams. This was the first NFL preseason game ever played in Minnesota. September 17, 1961: Against the Chicago Bears. This was the first NFL regular season Vikings game ever played in Minnesota. Then-21-year-old Fran Tarkenton made his NFL debut, coming off the bench tot throw 4 touchdowns in a huge upset of 37-13. October 15, 1961: Regular season game against the San Francisco 49er's. October 22, 1961: Regular season game against the Green Bay Packers. November 12, 1961: Regular season game against the Baltimore Colts. The Vikings upset Johnny Unitas and the Colts 29-20. November 19, 1961: Regular season game against the Detroit Lions. December 3, 1961: Regular season game against the Los Angeles Rams. Once again Tarkenton (now the starting quarterback) threw 4 touchdowns again and the Vikings beat the Rams 42-21. Twins: June 25, 1961: Regular season game against the New York Yankees. The Yankees would go on to with the World Championship that year. This is also the year that Roger Maris (61 homeruns) and Mickey Mantle (54 homeruns) hit career season highs in homeruns. Maris broke Babe Ruth’s record that year as well. July 4, 1961: Regular season doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox. These exciting games saw Julio Becquer hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth. In the second game Harmon Killebrew hit the only inside-the-park homerun of his career (total of 573 career homeruns). August 29, 1961: Regular season game against the New York Yankees.
