Kunisada "Gochumon Shusu no Obiya" Diptych
Utagawa Kunisada/Toyokuni III (Japanese, 1786-1865). Woodblock diptych depicting a scene from the kabuki play "Gochumon Shusu no Obiya" at the Kawarazaki Theater, 1840. The left print depicting Ichikawa Ebizo V as Obiya Choemon. The right print depicting Onoe Kikugoro II as Kataoka Kozaemon.
Each, height: 15 in x width: 10 1/4 in.
Condition: The sheets have been possibly trimmed and are toned. Light soiling throughout. The standing man has a crease along the lower third. There is also a small tear along the upper left edge. The works are not framed.
