Hasui Kawase ”Shinkubo, Hachinohe” Woodblock Print - Hasui Kawase (Japanese, 1883-1957). Woodblock print titled ”Shinkubo, Hachinohe, ” depicting a nocturnal scene of a rocky shore with a calm sea. From the series ”Nihon fukei shu higashi Nihon hen (Collection of scenic views of Japan, eastern Japan edition), ” 1933. Seal in plate along the lower right. Height: 15 in x width: 10 1/8 in. Condition: The colors are bold and deep. The sheet is toned. There are no major signs of restoration. Some wear along the extreme edges including small chips. There is a pinhole along the upper left, a small loss along the lower left, and three minute tears along the lower right. The work is not framed.
