2 Carl-Harry Stalhane for Rorstrand Ceramic Bowls - Carl-Harry Stalhane (Swedish, 1920-1990). Group of two ceramic bowls including a short and dense vessel with a spiral design along the center, akin to Stalhane's ”CES” model alphabet bowl, in addition to a second strong and uniquely designed bowl with complex and beautiful blue and magenta glazes, similar to the ”SHX” model alphabet bowl, ca. 1950s. The shorter bowl is marked along the underside with an incised Rorstrand three-crown maker's mark, ”CHS”, ”Atelje, ” and ”Sweden.” The larger bowl is incised with a Rorstrand three-crown maker's mark, Stalhane's signature, ”Sweden” and numbered 2293 along the footrim and 1979 to the right of the maker's mark. Carl-Harry Stalhane is one of the most celebrated figures of 20th-century Swedish ceramic design. He is best known for his role as the artistic leader at Rorstrand during the 1960s. His name has become synonymous with exceptional ceramic quality, stunning creative design, and outstanding craftsmanship.
