Rare ceramic bust depicting a nude African woman, her head tilted and eyes closed in contemplation, 1938. From a series of sculptural ceramics Kyhn designed for Royal Copenhagen. Stoneware with sung and solfatara glaze. Stamped Royal Copenhagen wave mark and artist's stamp along interior. Height: 14 1/4 in x width: 11 3/4 in x depth: 8 1/4 in. Condition: There are no chips, cracks, losses, or restorations. Crazing throughout. Light wear to the underside.
