After Hasselberg for Gustavsberg Bisque ”Snowdrop” - After Per Hasselberg (Swedish, 1850-1894) for Gustavsberg, Sweden. Biscuit or bisque porcelain figure after Per Hasselberg's sculpture titled ”Snoklockan (Snowdrop/Snow Bell)” depicting a young neoclassical nude woman, ca. 1899. Upon close inspection, a ”snowdrop” flower may be seen to the left of the young woman's feet, perhaps signifying a loss of innocence or transition from adolescence to womanhood. Impressed along the verso of the base with a Gustavsberg anchor-form maker's mark, facsimilie signature, ”Paris, ” and numbered ”91B”, and impressed ”P. Hasselberg, Paris”. Height: 19 1/4 in x width: 4 1/4 in x depth: 4 1/2 in. Condition: There are no chips, cracks, losses, or restorations. Light wear to the footrim. Some light dust and debris gathered in the recessed areas. Seams visible along the limbs where they join the body.
