Yabu Meizan Japanese Satsuma Ceramic Trumpet Vase - Yabu Meizan (Japanese, 1853-1934). Meiji era Japanese satsuma ceramic trumpet or ikebana vase, late 19th century. With enamel and gilt along the exterior depicting profuse millefleur floral motifs throughout, especially along the flared neck. The lower half of the stem portrays a seaside village landscape with a torii gate in the distance, and cartouches bearing figural village scenes and immortals revolve along the circumference of the flared footrim. Marked along the underside with a Yabu Meizan seal. Height: 5 1/4 in x diameter: 3 in. Condition: There are no visible cracks, losses, or restorations. Crazing throughout the glaze. Light wear along the footrim. Dust gathered throughout the recessed areas.
