19th c. Japanese Double-Gourd Ceramic Satsuma Vase - 19th c. Japanese double-gourd ceramic satsuma vase, Meiji era. With three cartouches along the lower lobe of the body depicting figural groups and immortals, geometric motifs and a band of fluttering butterflies along the upper lobe of the vase, and millefleur floral motifs throughout. Illegibly impressed along the underside. Height: 4 in x diameter: 2 3/4 in. Condition: There are no visible cracks, losses, or restorations. Crazing throuhgout the glaze. Light wear along the footrim, including some adhesive accretions along the underside. Dust and debris gathered along the interior.
