Poss. 17th c. Indian Sri Yantra Mandala Drawing - Rajasthan India saffron ink on paper sri yantra mandala drawing diagram depicting a series of superimposed triangles along a central circle surrounded by lotus petal forms, additional concentric rings, and a linear border, possibly 17th century. Inscribed with text throughout, likely mantras or written incantations. Indian yantras are geometric diagrams used in sacred practices to aid meditation and spiritual growth. They serve as visual tools to represent divine energies and cosmic principles, guiding practitioners in focusing their thoughts and intentions to achieve higher states of consciousness and inner harmony. Unframed; height: 20 in x width: 16 1/2 in. Framed; height: 31 in x width: 27 1/2 in x depth: 1 in. Condition: The sheet is toned. There are deep creases throughout consistent with the sheet being folded. There are signs of restorations along the crease running through the center of the work that fluoresce under UV light. Wear along the edges of the drawing including losses along the left and right in addition to chipping and handling marks along the top and bottom. There are signs of water damage along the top and bottom of the sheet. Framed under plexiglass; light wear and dust along the frame.
