Cai Wei Ink Calligraphy Painting - Cai Wei (Chinese, 20th/21st c). Ink on paper calligraphy painting. With two red seals in either margin. Possibly Cai Wei, a scholar from Jinzhou, Liaoning province, who teaches at Anshun University in Guizhou province. He has taught ancient Chinese writing, paleography, and calligraphy. In the past, he worked as a street peddler, selling popsicle sticks to earn enough money to buy a second-hand books on calligraphy. He also made headlines in 2009 when he was accepted into a PhD program after failing college entry exams years previous.
