19th c. Staffordshire Pearlware Woman & Musket - Staffordshire, England. Ceramic pearlware figure depicting a frontierswoman clutching a musket, ca. 1840s. The woman depicted is possibly Polly Crockett, the wife of Davy Crockett, an American frontier icon, politician, and folk hero. Height: 12 in x width: 5 in x depth: 4 in. Condition: There are no major breaks, losses, chips, or restorations. Crazing to the glaze throughout. Trace remnants of polychrome remaining in recessed areas. Light wear to the footrim.
