Pair 19th c. KPM Porcelain Bowtie Urns - K.P.M., Germany. Pair of porcelain urns or lidded vase vessels decorated with hand-painted insects along the lid and floral sprays along the front and back of each, ca. 19th century. With gilt embellished rims, foliate motifs along the lid, and bands of vertical stripes throughout the body of the vessel. Applied powder blue ribbon swags draped along the sides and ”tied” into bows at the handles and finial. Impressed ”C” and a scepter in underglaze along the underside of each. (Each, with lid) height: 11 in x width: 8 1/2 in x depth: 7 1/2 in. Condition: There are no major losses to the gilt or pigment. There is a restoration along the left handle of one of the urns; repaired break is apparent where one of the two loops of the ribbon-form handle meets the body of the urn. Light wear to the gilt along the rim of each urn where the lid meets the body. Wear along the footrim.
