20th c. Wolverine Supply & Mfg Co Tin Zilotone Toy
Wolverine Supply & Manufacturing Company, United States. Pressed steel and lithographed tin "Zilotone" toy, ca. 1930. The toy depicts a male musician figure with two mallets behind a xylophone and a wind-up mechanism that is nonoperational. With five metal music discs or records including "Silent Night, " "My Old Kentucky Home, " "Yankee Doodle, " "Sidewalks of New York, " and "Listen to the Mocking Bird."
Height: 7 in x width: 9 in x depth: 8 in.
Condition: The toy does not move and appears to likely have been overwound. Tarnishing and oxidization to the metal throughout. Losses to the paint. Lacking one key on the xylophone. Possibly missing several attached components. With five "records".
