Hand-woven wool tapestry titled ”Le Poire, Le Fromage, et Le Serpent (The Pear, The Cheese, and The Serpent), ” 1975. Woven signature and factory mark along the lower right. Numbered 4 from an intended edition of 200 along the verso. Titled along a tag affixed to the verso. Designed for the series ”The Bicentennial Tapestries, ” this is one of six designs created to commemorate he 200th anniversary of the United States. Though 200 of each of these designs were planned, the full edition was never fully realized and few have come available to the art market. Length: 3 ft 4 1/2 in x width: 5 ft. Condition: There are no tears, losses, or repairs. Small spot of soiling below the red swirl.
