Sir Jacob Epstein Rita Romilly Bronze Bust 1937
Sir Jacob Epstein (British/American, 1880-1959). Bronze bust depicting a portrait of Rita Romilly (American, 1900-1980), ca. 1937. Unmarked. Rita Romilly was a stage actress and acting teacher for many of Hollywood's early stars including Lauren Bacall, Kirk Douglas, and Colleen Dewhurst.
Height: 17 in x width: 9 in x depth: 9 1/2 in. Weight: 39 lbs 12 oz.
Condition: The bronze is in overall good condition with no bends, dents, breaks, or losses. Some accretions along the jawline and neck. Some dust/debris gathered throughout. There is a chip to the black base along a back corner. Light wear to the underside of the base.
