Hiroaki Takahashi Japanese Woodblock Scroll 1910
Hiroaki (Shotei) Takahashi (Japanese, 1871-1945). Woodblock print mounted on a scroll titled "Returning Woman in an Autumn Evening" or "Tasogare (Dusk)" depicting a landscape with a farmer figure walking along a path and a descending sun along the horizon behind her, a flock of geese overhead in the distance. Red seal signature along the left edge. First published in 1910. Post 1923 earthquake publication by Watanabe, ca. 1924-1936.
(Huaxin) Height: 14 1/2 in x width: 6 1/4 in. (Scroll) Height: 26 1/2 in x width: 8 1/2 in.
Condition: The colors are bold and bright. There is a light crack to the painting in the lower left corner. The scroll has an undulation to it natural to being rolled. Light wear to the silk. Light wear to the wooden handles.
