2 Poss. Tang Chinese Terracotta Tomb Figures - Group of two Chinese earthenware terracotta tomb figures, possibly Tang dynasty. The taller figure depicts a robed feminine form with hands clasped at her chest, her hair arranged in a high bun atop her head. The shorter figure depicts a male figure with his hands raised in front of him. (Taller) Height: 14 1/2 in x width: 4 1/4 in x depth: 3 in. (Shorter) Height: 14 in x width: 5 in x depth: 3 1/2 in. Condition: Wear throughout consistent with age. Some fleabite chips throughout. Evidence of restoration along the wrists of the shorter figure; hands appear to have been reattached. Some accretions throughout. Wear along the undersides. Trace evidence of polychrome, especially along the male figure.
