Late Qing Chinese Bronze Buddha Box - Chinese bronze buddha figure with box, late Qing dynasty. The buddha is depicted with a peaceful expression and eyes in a partially closed glance; he sits cross legged with the left hand over turned and curled toward him while his left palm is open and splayed away from his body. With a beaded rim along the upper edge of the base and impressed petal pattern in a band along the body of the base. The bottom the base is upholstered with a foliate print fabric. (Bronze w/ stand) Height: 7 1/2 in x width: 5 1/4 in x depth: 4 in. (Box) Height: 5 in x width: 6 1/2 in x depth: 9 3/4 in. Condition: Some small areas of discoloration or tarnishing throughout. The outstretched hand has been repaired; there is a crack encircling the wrist. Wear to the silk-wrapped stand. Wear to the linen box and some shattering to the silk interior.
