Don Koestner Lake Superior Shore Painting - Don Koestner (American, 1923-2009). Oil on canvas painting depicting the waves of the North Shore of Lake Superior. Signed along the lower right. Koestner lived in Minnesota his entire life and, after studying at Minneapolis School of Art, he taught at Atelier Lack, founded by Richard Lack, whom he met in school. The two artists remained lifelong friends. Unframed; height: 16 in x width: 16 in. Framed; height: 20 1/2 in x width: 20 1/2 in x depth: 2 1/4 in. Condition: The colors are bold and bright and the surface is stable. No tears, losses, or restorations when viewed under UV light. Light wear to the frame.
