Oil on canvas painting titled ”Sly's Eye, ” depicting a graffiti filled exterior subway train with three individuals inside, 1977. Signed and dated along the lower right. The verso with a Kennedy Galleries, New York label as well as exhibition history labels. Provenance: Kennedy Galleries, New York; Distinguished Corporate Collection, Minnesota. Exhibition: Indianapolis Museum of Art, ”Painting & Sculpture Today 1978,” June 15 - July 30, 1978; Terra Museum of American Art, ”Solitude - Inner Visions in American Art, ” September 25 - December 30, 1982. Unframed; height: 45 3/4 in x width: 56 1/2 in. Framed; height: 52 in x width: 62 1/2 in x depth: 1 3/4 in. Condition: There are no visible cracks, losses, or restorations. The colors are bold and deep and the surface is stable. There is a small scratch to the surface of the paint along the cetner. Some light soiling to the verso, likely original to the artistic process. Light wear to the frame.
