Frank Gehry for Knoll ”Cross Check” Arm Chair - Frank Gehry (Canadian/American, b. 1929) for Knoll, New York, United States. Bent and woven laminated maple wood ”Cross Check” armchair. Inspired by bushel baskets and apple crates, this chair was first designed in 1990. Woodburned impressed maker's mark, signature, and manufacture date (September 30, 1994) along the underside of the seat. Height: 33 1/2 in x width: 25 1/2 in x depth: 26 in. Condition: The chair is structurally sound and stable. There are no splits to the wood, chips or cracks, losses, or repairs. There are several areas throughout where the pieces have come slightly loose or the glue has come unstuck. A few areas along the edges of the pieces with light wear or areas of rubbing. Light wear along the underside of the feet.
