Warren MacKenzie Ceramic Casserole Dish - Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Studio ceramic casserole or lidded dish. Glazed stoneware. Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota. The dish also shows minimal wear, with no visible chips cracks or damage along either the rim or the footrim.
