Leonard Foujita ”A Book of Cats” Collotype 1929 - Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita, (Japanese/French, 1886-1968). Collotype on paper depicting a seated kitten, 1929. Signed and dated in plate along the lower left; printed ”Made in France” along the lower right. From ”A Book of Cats, ” this print accompanied the poem ”Abihail.” Literature: Leonard Foujita, ”A Book of Cats, ” (Ashford Press Publishing: Southampton, 1987), First printed in 1930. With poems in prose by Michael Joseph. Height: 10 in x width: 12 3/4 in. Condition: There are no major losses or tears. There are small creases throughout the lower right quadrant, in particular one that is 2 1/2 inches long, horizontally across the center of the right margin. The sheet is toned. There is a minute spot of discoloration in the lower left corner. There are no signs of restoration under UV light. Not framed.
