Ming Chinese Carved Jade Butterfly Pendant - Chinese carved jade butterfly ornament or pendant. The translucent stone of a yellowish-green coloration with calcifications throughout. Some small russet inclusions. Finely carved with pierced decoration and incised lines. Provenance: Private Minneapolis Collection - collected in China prior to 1985. Height: 2 in x width: 2 1/2 in x depth: 1/8 in. Weight: 21.65 grams. Condition: There are small chips throughout, most along the interior curls; one chip along a lower wing. Calcifications throughout. Natural fissures and veins. Sharpie inscription along the verso.
