18th c. Chinese Pale Jade Boy Carving - Chinese pale jade boy carving depicting a boy. The nearly white jade is well carved to show off the russet pebble skin along the back where it is integrated into the decoration of the flowers. The material carving and style of this strongly suggest an 18th century date. Provenance: Private Minneapolis Collection - collected in China prior to 1985. (Not including stand) Height: 2 in x width: 3/4 in x depth: 3/4 in. Weight (including attached stand): 19.08 grams. Condition: No visible cracks, chips, or restorations. The stand has shrunk and tightened around the jade; the underside of the jade cannot be inspected. Light wear throughout. Some light accretions throughout.
