18th-19th c. Chinese Jade Cicada Pendant - Early 19th century Chinese jade cicada pendant. Carved from a grayish-white jade with light russet and caramel brown inclusions. With a carved wooden stand. Provenance: Private Minneapolis Collection - collected in China prior to 1985. Length: 2 1/4 in x width: 1 1/4 in x depth: 1/4 in. Weight: 17.28 grams. Condition: There appears to be a small repair near the left eye; there is a short crack extending from it and residual adhesive. There are two small drilled holes along the top of the head, likely to thread a chain or string through. Light wear throughout; natural lines throughout. Light wear to the stand.
