Shepard Hardware ”Punch & Judy” Mechanical Bank - Shepard Hardware Company, United States. Cast iron and pigment ”Punch and Judy” mechanical coin bank, ca. 1884. Marked along the underside. Height: 7 1/2 in x width: 6 1/4 in x depth: 4 in. Condition: The bank functions. When the peg along the side is pulled the level can then be pressed and one figure will move forward while the other will ferry the coin into the back. The flap that would be along this area has come loose and is loose within the area where coins are held. There are losses to the paint and wear throughout consistent with age and use.
