Chinese Lapis Lazuli Carved Sculpture
Chinese carved lapis lazuli sculpture depicting four figures including an immortal riding a ship. Attached to a wooden base and with a silk box.
Lapis, with base; height: 8 3/4 in x width: 9 3/4 in x depth: 3 in. Box; height: 6 in x width: 15 in x depth: 9 1/2 in.
Condition: The item is in generally good condition with no major cracks or visible losses. The sculpture is attached to the base. Light wear and natural lines throughout as expected. When inspected under UV light, there are five areas of possible restoration; one of the petals, right edge, head of a child in the middle, lower right, and hand of the person in the far left; under natural light, not visible. Wear to the base and underside, consistent with age.
