Warren MacKenzie Miniature Tazza - Double Stamped
Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Miniature studio pottery ceramic tazza. Glazed stoneware. Double stamped along the underside of the dish.

Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.

Height: 3 1/4 in x diameter: 6 3/4 in.
Condition: The tazza is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or losses. Throughout the piece, there are a few firing flaws, original to the piece. Along the underside, there is very light wear, consistent with age and use. When inspected under UV light, there is no sign of restoration. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition. Email condition@revereauctions.com with any condition questions.
