Elena Graure Manta (Romanian/German, b. 1956). Group of six figural torso glass perfume bottles in the form of figures with lilypad stoppers. In the artist's signature style with swirling gilt decoration over frosted glass bodies.
Height ranges from 7 3/4 in to 16 in; diameter ranges from 2 in to 5 1/2 in.
Condition: The bottles are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration under UV light. All items have light wear throughout as expected. The bottle captured in the far right in the lot listing show a sign of repainting to the chest area and below the left arm; there is a brown accretion to the back of the head. The bottle, second to the right in the listing, has some loss to the golden gilt, which does not affect the overall work; unknown white residue collected along the recessed area, most noticeable by the right arm; minute accretion below the hip area. The bottle, third to the right in the listing has a brown mark along the upper rim; along the back of the bottle, there are some losses to frost. The bottle, third to the left, has light oxidation to the gilt decoration, most noticeable from the back; there is an unevenness to the surface to the breast area; along the back, there are two areas that are possibly repainted; there are a minute crack and unevenness to the edge of the lilypad stopper. The bottle, second to the left, has some areas that seem to be repainted; it has a minute crack to the left hand. The bottle, far left, has unevenness to the end of the left hand, possibly original to the piece; there is light oxidation to gilt decoration. All items show wear to the underside, consistent with age and use. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
