Set 5 Japanese Kutani Ware Porcelain Dishes
Set of five Japanese Kutani ware porcelain dishes, each depicting a man leading an ox through a landscape. With a pseudo-Chinese six-character Chenghua mark in underglaze blue along the underside.
Each; diameter: 8 1/2 in.
Condition: The dishes are in good condition overall with no major chips, cracks, or losses that affect the overall work. As expected from age and use, there are several areas where the gilt has faded and wear throughout. No visible chips to the rim. Light crazing to the glaze. Some plates have a few areas that lost glaze. A few areas with original firing flaws. One of the plates has a minute crack to the sky. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. All plates show a line of minute chips and wear to the footrim, consistent with age and use; adhesive residue to the underside. Please contact us for a detailed condition report.
