Late 19th C. Japanese Bronze Umbrella Stand
Late 19th-century Japanese Meiji bronze umbrella stand decorated in low relief with several flying cranes amongst clouds and flowering prunus. Great dark patina. Marked along the underside.
Height: 23 in x diameter: 8 3/4 in.
Condition: The item is in a good condition overall with no major dents, cracks, or losses. When inspected under UV light, there is no visible sign of restoration. Light wear throughout. There is a minute dent along the rim. Throughout the exterior, there are several areas with unidentified residue that are only visible under UV light; however, they do not appear to be a restoration but a sign of use and age. There are two round adhesive residues to the exterior below the rim. The underside is not completely attached the umbrella stand. Dust collected to the surface. Heavy wear to the underside, consistent with age and use. Oxidation to the metal components. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. Please note that the lack of a condition statement does not imply perfect condition. Email condition@revereauctions.com with any condition questions.
