Early Tamang Shaman Ritual Bird Finial From Nepal
The Tamang Shaman (or "lamas", as they are sometimes called), have resided in their native Nepal since antiquity. This piece could have been deployed in a cleansing rite, or as a component of a ritual dance, and has all the hallmarks of significant age. Museum-mounted, it has overall dimensions of approximately 8.5". Like many lots forthcoming, it is but a single offering from the vast estate of a true antiquity connoisseur in every sense of the word. This antiquarian truly enjoyed the treasures collected as well as world travel, humanitarianism, and missionary work.
