Raymer Society will be auctioning art from the estate of Hal Wright of McPherson, KS. Over 250 lots will be on live and silent auction. 


The artworks may be previewed at the Red Barn Studio Museum 212 S. Main St. Lindsborg, KS from January 23th- 25th. Artworks will also be on display day of the auction on January 27th, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 224 S. Main St. Lindsborg, KS. Doors open at 9:00 AM, Auction begins at 10:00 AM.

Rogers, Charles (1911-1987) set of 2 lithographs "Cornshocks and Cottonwood" image size: 6.75 x 9.75 inches "Horses in Pasture" image size: 7 x 9.75 inches, both pencil signed in lower right, both in good condition but unframed. A painter, art educator, and member of the Prairie Printmaker Society, Charles B Rogers (1911-1987) was known for his airy landscapes of the American West, often with pastel hues executed in oil. He was born in Great Bend, Kansas, and studied at the National Academy of Design; Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas under Birger Sandzen; the California College of Arts and Crafts; and with Dong Kingman and Jay Connaway. From 1947 to 1953, he taught at Lindsborg College, and from 1954 to 1966, he was Manager and Assistant Director of the Huntington Hartford Museum in Los Angeles. After that, he was a Professor of Art at Kansas State University.
