The popularity of Gallé's products in Russia was so great that not only the factories in Gus-Khrustalny and Dyatkovo, but even the Imperial Glass Factory in St. Petersburg produced "Gallé vases" and shamelessly put a fake "Gallé" mark on the bottoms.
Emile Gallé (1846-1904) - French artist, representative of the Art Nouveau style, designer of artistic multi-layered glass, reformer of artistic glassmaking, painter, draftsman, ceramist, furniture designer and interior decorator, botanist and gardener, symbolist poet and art theorist. Emile Gallé managed to create an original "floral style" of decorating glass products, which was later named after him: "Gallé style" or "Gallé glass". He earned worldwide fame for his stunning vases of multi-layered colored glass in the cameo technique. To create the cameo effect, he used a special acid, correcting the relief with partial carving and engraving.
Founder in 1901 and first president of the company known in art history as the School of Nancy.
