A letter from the yeshiva in Hebron with the signature of the brothers-in-law Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna and Rabbi Aharon Cohen - year 1942 - A letter from the yeshiva in Hebron with the signature of the brothers-in-law Rabbi Yechezkel Sarna and Rabbi Aharon Cohen - year 1942 R. Yechezkel Sarna (1890–1969) was among the closest disciples of R. Nosson Tzvi Finkel the “Alter of Slabodka” and was the son in law of R. Moshe Mordechai Epstein, Rosh Yeshiva of the Slabodka Yeshiva. He had a leading role in the transfer of part of the Yeshiva from Europe to Chevron in 1925 and following the Chevron Massacre of 1929, the re-establishment of the Yeshiva in Yerusholayim. In 1934, following the passing of his father in law he was appointed Rosh Yeshiva where he served until his passing. The Gaon Rabbi Aharon Cohen [1904-1961] was famed for his genius and piety. Studied at the Knesset Yisroel Slabodka Yeshiva and the Hebron Yeshiva. Was the son-in-law of the Rosh Yeshiva the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein.
