The Holy Gaon Rabbi Chaim Elazar Shapiro author of 'Minachat Elazar' of Munkatch [1872-1937] one of the Geonim of the generation and one of the greatest and renowned leaders of Israel, the son of the Holy Gaon the 'Darkei Teshuvah' and the grandson of the Holy Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Shapiro of Munkatch, a descendant of the Rabbi author of Bnei Yissachar. Was known for his firm zealotry and and his war against the Zionists and destroyers of religion. He gathered communities and headed many struggles for the Torah and Judaism. Authored many compositions: 'Shut Minchat Elazar', 'Sha'ar Yissachar', 'Nimukei Orach Chaim', 'Divrei Torah'.
