An important letter from the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Natan Neta Lemberger Gab'd Makawa to the Gaon Rabbi Yochanan Sofer of Erlau - on the occasion of the bar mitzvah of his son Rabbi Shimon - An important letter from the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Natan Neta Lemberger Gab'd Makawa to the Gaon Rabbi Yochanan Sofer of Erlau - on the occasion of the bar mitzvah of his son Rabbi Shimon Rabbi Moshe Natan Lemberger (died 1983), student of the author of ”Shu”t Maharshag”, was the Av Beit Din of Makawa. In 1952 he immigrated to Israel and established the ”Makawa Yeshiva” in Kiryat Ata. He left behind him many Torah thoughts in manuscript form. The Admor Rabbi Yochanan Sofer of Erla u (1924-2016) was the 5th generation descendant of the Chatam Sofer, a disciple of the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Belz. He established the Erlau yeshiva and led it for 50 years until his passing in 2016. He was famed as a gaon and holy man. He served as a member of the Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah for many years and was one of the leaders of the Charedi community during important times.
