Letter written and signed by the Admor the Imrei Emet of Gur to his Son-In-Law - Letter by the Admor the Imrei Emet of Gur to his Son-In-Law Handwritten letter by the Admor of Gur, Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter, to his son-in-law Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Alter. [c. 1930]. The Admor Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alte r (1866-1848), son of the Sfat Emet, was a holy Ga’on. Established the Agudat Yisrael organization and was rabbi of tens of thousands of Gur Hassidim in Poland. The majority of his Hassidim as well as dozens of his descendants perished during the years of the Holocaust, however, the Admor miraculously survived and immigrated to Jerusalem, where he reestablished the Gur dynasty and Yeshivot. His remaining sons are the Admorim: the Beit Yisrael, the Lev Simcha and the Pnei Menachem.
