Letters from the Gaonim Rabbi Natan Neta Leiter Rabbi of Lvov, and his son Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf Leiter Rabbi of Pittsburgh - Letters from the Gaonim Rabbi Natan Neta Leiter Rabbi of Lvov, and his son Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf Leiter Rabbi of Pittsburgh Rabbi Natan Neta leiter (1869-1942) was the son of Rabbi David Dov Av Beit Din of Zawalów. He was a Torah genius, known for his righteousness. In 1900, he became Av Beit Din of Zalzitz in Galicia. After World War I, he became a Dayan and Av Beit Din in Lvov. In 1942, the rabbi was shot and killed by the Nazis in Lvov, while he was wearing his Talit and Tefilin. He was buried in a mass grave. Rabbi Ze'ev Wolf Leiter (1892-1974), outstanding Torah genius, of the leading Galicia and USA rabbis. Famous Iluy since childhood, corresponded with the great rabbis of his generation, the Admor Rabbi David Moshe of Chortkow blessed him with diligence in his Torah learning. At age 12 wrote his first essay, the “Divrei Chachamim” responsum. The scholarly replies in the present manuscript were written before he had reached his twenties. Served as rabbi since 1910. Moved to the USA during the 1920’s and served as Av Beit Din of Pittsburg since 1922.
