Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Sender Kahana-Shapira (1851 - 1923), one of the leading rabbis of Lithuania, was a disciple of the Beis Halevi and learned with his son Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. He served as Av Beis Din of Aletsch and Krinik and was the rabbi of Rabbi Aharon Kotler. His son was the famed D’var Avrohom of Kovno.
