The great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmuelovitz (1902-1979) a great Rosh Yeshiva in the previous generation, For many tears served as Rosh Yeshivas Mir. In his youth he studied Torah at the Sha'ar HaTorah Yeshiva in Grodno with the Faon Rabbi Shimon Shkop, who greatly appreciated him and even appointed him to teach at the yeshiva of the younger students. Was renowned as a great diligent Torah scholar and a deep Ba'al Sevora and as having a wonderous memory. Already in his youth, his study was in-depth with several Chevrusos who changed from time to time yet all the time he remained delving into the sweet Sugiyyos.
