An interesting letter from Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yosef Zaks, the son-in-law of the ”Chafetz Chaim” - on the letterhead of Rabbi Aryeh Liv HaCohen - Radin 1934 - An interesting letter from Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yosef Zaks, the son-in-law of the ”Chafetz Chaim” - on the letterhead of Rabbi Aryeh Liv HaCohen - Radin 1934 Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yosef Zaks (1894-1974), youngest son-in-law of the Chafetz Chaim, already served as Rosh Yeshiva in Radin during the lifetime of his great father-in-law. During the Holocaust traveled with his disciples to the city of Vilna and from there to the USA in order to transfer the Yeshiva students abroad, however he did not succeed and they were deported to Siberia. In the USA he served as chief Rosh Mativta in Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Yeshiva and was known as one of the Torah giants.
